If there was ever an age of trends we are living in it.
We live in the age of ever changing trends and aesthetics. It can be laughable that every single minute detail of our lives is categorized into a specific and niche aesthetic (burgundy, for instance, is now rebranded as “cherry mocha”). However, embracing the fun of new aesthetics can be a fun part of romanticizing modern day life. I fully enjoy when I see someone on the streets that clearly has chosen an aesthetic to embody for the day. Imagine how beautiful life would be if everyone put forth just a bit more effort into developing their personal style when they step outside? When we put effort into our personal style we glow differently and carry a higher sense of presence. Another area of life where we can infuse a little personality and individuality is our homes. While taking a whole shopping spree and loading up with new trinkets each time you are interested in a new trend is not practical or sustainable, taking stock of the overall ambiance and energy of your home will help you to access what needs to go for good, or put away until next season. After a little decluttering, you can decide where you might like to play around with trends.

When developing my personal interior style, I had a bit of an impulsive shopping habit with decor. Particularly at target or home goods, if I found something I thought was cute, I would purchase it without really thinking about where I would put it or how it would look with the other items in my home. While I enjoy many of the fun seasonal pieces I acquired in that time, I had to take a temporary spending freeze on all home-related items to take stock of what I wanted to keep and what was taking up too much space. I am glad I took the time to declutter and think on what I wanted to bring into my home that would be able to blend with my seasonal decor, and look nice in transitional times where I want to enjoy feminine aesthetics in my home without being overstimulated, or my home looking like a catalogue or tiktok shop ad. I highly reccomend taking stock of what pieces you love, and what its time to say goodbye to each season. Taking baby steps to declutter your home by going room by room, or even section by section (first your seasonal bin, next your desk or vanity, ect…) is a great way to get started without becoming overwhelmed. This can easily be done in a month if you focus on sections week by week, and then you will have a great head start on spring cleaning!
Once you have decluttered, its time to think about where you need to spice things up in your home to match your current aesthetic. I personally think the best way to play around with trends is to keep the big pieces in your home (couch, table, ect) simple and timeless, so that they can act as a canvas to the small pieces you enjoy bringing in and out for the seasons or different moods you develop. It is amazing how much new energy I can get from playing switching out a few simple items, or even playing around with the position of items in my home. If you have been finding yourself feeling uninspired in your home environment, I highly recommend you get a head start on spring cleaning so you can start the season with a clean slate and plenty of room for your next treasured staples. Once you have decluttered, its time to treat yourself with a little home shopping! Below are some fun options that explore current trends without investing in large pieces that may or may not age well. Happy shopping bebes!
Vases as functional Decor
I think a beautiful vase is such a great way to decorate a space without creating clutter. Choosing a vase that you enjoy displaying with or without flowers helps to give personality to your home without keeping track of multiple vases you only enjoy displaying when you get flowers. With three options below, you can have a fun vase for kitchen, living and bedroom 😉
Below are some beautiful vases that hint at the bow trend, but are neutral enough to blend with different aesthetics or seasons. I felt so lucky to snag a two pack of slightly different white ceramic vases for 30$ each at amazon, but sadly, they are not currently being sold. I have found this single options in white which is very similar.

If you enjoy the look of a ceramic vase that can always be on display, but simply can’t embrace the bow trend, this ceramic paper bag vase is also a fun option for an original vase with less frills.

Finally, if you’re ready to fully embrace the fun viral tiktok purse vase, here is a fun option to play around with styling. While a unique vase might seem silly, I think it is something fun that can totally be adapted to ever changing trends. And if one day its totally out, how cute would it be as a fun regift? For now though, the individual trends are here to stay.

To the Kitchen
The kitchen, the heart of the home. Lately, I have fully been embracing a coquette kitchen (although I really admire the cool girl/martini girl kitchen look as well)))). In honor of spring emerging, and embracing the soft girl era, here are some fun coquette kitchen pieces to bring some fun to your kitchen.
Similar to the vase, a butter dish is another great decorative piece that doubles in functionality. Whether or not you keep butter regularly out, it looks so nice in a kitchen, and you could also use to it to hold your rings while doing the dishes, place straws or other utensils you want to have quickly, ect..

I have been loving this pink bow option for the winter to spring season. It appears small but fully holds a stick of butter and looks so nice in my kitchen. If you are looking for something a little more demure, that still encapsulates the feminine coquette aesthetic, here is another option.

For good measure, I am including one last butter dish option that could blend into so many different trends. A little coquette, a little Americana, overall a great neutral option that could work well if you have roommates or a family.

The side is the best part!!!!

Breakfast in Bed
I have always lovedddd a good breakfast tray. Another fun way to add some personality to your home, while dueling in functionality. I love to have some for meal times on the couch, and some to use as a catch all for my journals and current books I’m reading. How sweet is this fun romantic breakfast tray? It comes in a set of three, and I was thinking how great it would be to have one for the kitchen, one for the vanity and one to gift!

This one is a very nice neutral option that could also double for eating or organization. A lovely blank canvas tray option that can blend to fit almost any aesthetic. This simple wicker tray could be Americana, beach aesthetic or classic neutral.

Last but not least, I feel that this side tray option is so fun for mob wife aesthetic! This one is definitely going to work best for the living room or bedroom, and I wouldn’t recommend serving anything on it but a cocktail, but picture how nice this would look in your living room as a beautiful place to set your drink and maybe a candle?

Well ladies, I hope you found some inspiration to start your spring cleaning and freshen up your home, whatever aesthetic you desire. Keeping your decorative pieces functional will help to bring a little personality to your home while keeping the clutter away.
XOXO,
J
